What is SaGa: Emerald Beyond?
A new title in the SaGa series.

SaGa: Emerald Beyond is the latest game in the SaGa series of RPGs. Players choose one of the six main characters (including two-person pairs) and travel through 17 worlds with different motifs and themes such as heaven and the underworld
Branching Storylines

SaGa: Emerald Beyond features a branching storyline that encourages multiple playthroughs. The content of the story changes by going through the game two or three times.
The number of story branches is described to the "the largest number in the series." When one protagonist clears their scenario, the story of another main character is affected.
Certain elements of the main story main seem unclear on a first clear of the game. Only by playing through scenario's multiple times or playing as a different character will story details be fully resolved or concluded.
Battle System Features

The Saga series' Glimmer system is still alive and well in this latest entry. New Techs that correspond to the weapon type may be learned during battle for use on the following character's turn.
Characters belonging to the Human race are able to learn self-styled Techs while characters of the Monster race can absorb Techs used by enemies. You can also discard Techs you no longer use by "releasing" them.
Formation and Roles

The formations and roles systems are still intact in SaGa: Emerald Beyond. Advanced preparation for battle, such as adjusting a specific character's action speed using formations and adjusting stats using rolls, remain an important element in this game.
Unity

The most important mechanic in SaGa: Emerald Beyond's combat is unity. In battle, you must always aim to work together with your allies to unleash United Attacks as will your enemies. Encounters, therefore, are a constant battle of setting up your team for unity while hindering your opponent's.
Showstopper
Showstopper is another special mechanic that activates when your allies have been defeated. A character who goes into Showstopper can perform a series of coordinated attacks using the skills they have learned to deal massive damage on targets. Thanks to this element, you still have a chance to seize victory even after your allies have been taken out of the fight.
Enemies can also harness a special Dominance state similar to Showstopper. Some powerful enemies can even wipe out your entire party even when they alone by going into this state so adjustments and planning is crucial to win.
